Our Story
Marcus Elliott didn't plan on starting a roofing company. He just knew there had to be a better way to serve homeowners.
His first roofing experience was helping his uncle roof a hunting cabin at age 14. The work was hard, but the feeling of accomplishment stuck with him. He continued roofing through high school and college, learning the trade from the ground up as a laborer.
After a decade away from roofing, Marcus returned to the industry in 2009 during the Great Recession. Construction was slow, so he started part-time, saved what he could, and worked his way through the tough years. In 2016, he founded Heartland Roofing with a simple mission: to be the roofing company Kansas City homeowners could actually trust.
What sets Heartland apart? Marcus is directly involved in every roof installation. While bigger companies pass you between salespeople, project managers, and crews (making it easy to pass the buck when problems arise), Marcus ensures accountability from start to finish. He's roofed his own house, his brother's house, his parents' house, and countless friends' homes. Your roof gets the same care and attention.
